Participation of Anatoliy Karaul, President of the NGO “Energy Alliance,” in the international conference Interreg Europe in Antwerp, Belgium.

At the Interreg Europe international conference in Antwerp, Belgium, on March 20-21, 2024, Anatoliy Karaul, President of the NGO “Energy Alliance,” presented a comprehensive program for the renewal of the Ukrainian Region called “Initiative.” The program aims to improve energy efficiency and develop alternative energy sources in the region.

The implementation of the Program addresses the issue of comprehensive recovery of AHG. In Ukraine, Resolution No. 1159 of October 14, 2022, was adopted, approving the Procedure for the comprehensive recovery of cities, towns, and AHG settlements in Ukraine. The implementation of the comprehensive recovery Program of the Region addresses the following issues:

– Eliminating administrative barriers in government bodies that hindered small and medium-sized enterprises from receiving direct funding from the EU for recovery in the country’s regions.
– Improving and developing new life support systems for residential areas and cities to achieve high standards of ecology and energy efficiency in the Region’s transportation system.
– Engaging the local community in the formation of socially responsible logistics systems that operate with zero carbon dioxide emissions.
– Implementing digitalization of services for the transportation of goods and people.
– Rehabilitating military personnel returning from the front.
– Constructing an Educational Center in Dnipro and Lisbon, Portugal, with a 2000 sq.m. land plot in Dnipro already purchased.

The resolution of social issues in the Program will be carried out through the radical modernization of the Region’s economy, creating living comfort for residents, applying new scientific architectural solutions in construction, implementing a thoughtful environmental policy, and creating new interaction between the government and the people.

During the conference, it was noted that the implementation of the program involves active participation not only of government institutions but also of private companies. Therefore, 17 preliminary negotiations were held with interested firms regarding their participation in the program implementation.

The “Initiative” program is characterized by a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency issues, including not only technological solutions but also interaction with the public and involvement of local communities in actively implementing energy-saving measures.

Such an approach will contribute not only to reducing energy consumption but also to creating new jobs and improving the quality of life for the local population.
